What is a shade garden?

A shade garden is typically an area that receives less than four hours of direct sunlight daily. Shade can range from light shade, with filtered sunlight through tree branches, to full shade, with only a few hours of direct sun reaching the ground. While these spaces receive less sunlight, they offer the perfect conditions for lush foliage, rich textures, and cool, peaceful garden retreats.
