At Watson's, we're here to help your plants thrive! We offer several services to get your plants perfectly potted. 

Important Notes for All Repotting/Planting Services

Appointments:

For Custom Repotting and Custom Container Builds, we recommend making an appointment at our Puyallup location. Our Federal Way and Olympia locations offer these services on a first-come, first-served basis, so feel free to drop by during store hours.

Sick Plants:

We are unable to repot plants showing signs of disease or pests in store.

If you have questions about sick plants, you can make a Disease or Pest ID appointment with an expert on our Shop with an Expert page.

Same-Day Pickup:

All repotted or custom-built plants must be taken home the same day the service is performed. We cannot hold plants.

SERVICES

Free Houseplant Repotting Service

  • What it is: Basic repotting for a single houseplant.
  • When it's Free: This service is complimentary when you purchase both a new houseplant AND a new pot from us.
  • Soil: Includes our standard house potting soil. Specialty soil is available for an additional fee.
  • Availability: Offered at all locations. Not available on Mother's Day weekend.

Custom Repotting (Your Plants from Home) 

  • What it is: You bring in your existing plant(s) from home for us to repot.
  • Cost: This is a fee-based service, quoted upon arrival based on the plant's size and the amount and type of soil needed and amount of time required to complete the job.
  • Availability: Offered at all locations on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to volume, project size, and staffing, walk-in requests may have longer wait times. This service is not available during our peak seasons (April-May & November-December).
  • Please note: this is a same-day service. Plants must be dropped off and picked up on the same day and will not be held overnight.

Custom Container Builds

  • What it is: We'll custom-plant multiple plants you purchase from our store into a container you also purchase from us or one you bring from home.
  • Cost: This is a fee-based service, quoted upon arrival based on the complexity and the amount and type of soil or materials needed.
  • Process: Our team will build your custom container while you wait.
  • Availability: Offered at all locations on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to volume, project size, and staffing, walk-in requests may have longer wait times or may not be able to be fulfilled on the same day.

Site-Based Container Design  

Step 1: Chat with our Designers

Schedule a complimentary intake phone call or in-person chat with our designers to explore your goals and our services. 

Step 2: On-site Consultation and Bid

Your designer will visit your site to discuss your vision and project opportunities. Starting at $250. 

What’s included in your consultation:     

  • On site assessment and vision discussion.
  • Follow up email with Design Vision Notes and Bid for your project based on the consultation

Step 3 : Design Installation

Your designer will bring the vision to life! Sit back and relax while we turn the vision into reality!

  • Labor Rates: $125 per hour per person—applies to design and preparation time at the store, travel time, and on-site labor.
  • Watson’s does not offer routine maintenance or irrigation services, but we are happy to make recommendations.

The hands-off experience: We will handle every step of the process so you can relax and let us bring your design vision to life! Your designer will consult, design, bid, hand-pick your materials, and install your entire project.
