How to Care for Living Christmas Trees
🎄 Acclimatize your tree by placing it in your garage or under a deck for a few days prior to bringing it inside.
🎄 You may keep your tree indoors for a maximum of 7 to 10 days
It’s tempting to keep them in the house longer, but indoor heat can wake the tree out of dormancy, making the transition outdoors stressful.
🎄 Each day, put ice on the surface of the soil to keep the roots cool, and tree watered. Your room should be kept as cool as possible. Avoid placing tree near heating vents & fireplaces.
🎄 Keep in a cooler room that stays around 60–65°F and away from fireplaces, heating vents, and space heaters if possible.
🎄 Make sure to protect your flooring or carpet from spills. A large clear saucer works great.
🎄 Keep the number of lights to a minimum and only leave tem on for short periods of time. Use LED Lights Only. LED lights stay cool, which keeps your tree safe and prevents drying. Avoid traditional string lights that produce heat
🎄Reacclimatize your tree to the outdoors. Put in a protected place outdoors (under a deck or near a building). Leave your tree there for 1 to 2 weeks before planting it in the yard.
🎄Many of our tree's roots are wrapped in burlap. When planting do not remove the burlap but cut the twine around the trunk, so it does not girdle.
A living Christmas tree brings a special kind of holiday magic. You enjoy the beauty of a fresh, fragrant tree indoors, then watch it continue growing long after the lights come down. Whether you plant one every year or choose a special tree for your family, it’s a meaningful way to celebrate the season and give back to your landscape.
